TORONTO HYDRO CORPORATION
Toronto Hydro receives award from the Canadian Solar Industries Association for its commitment to solar energy

May 18, 2016

Toronto Hydro is the proud recipient of the 2016 Game Changer Solar Service Excellence award from the Canadian Solar Industries Association.  This award recognizes our efforts to streamline the process of connecting solar projects to our electricity grid in order to help customers complete their projects quickly and easily.

We support renewable generation and have a team of solar experts who can help guide customers, developers and consultants through the connection process.  We work with Hydro One and the Independent Electricity System Operator to plan for future renewable projects and participate in pilot projects that advance the industry.

This award recognizes the work we're doing to support innovation while taking a customer-focused approach. With an aging infrastructure, renewable generation like solar can help increase the asset lifespan and meet peak capacity needs in the summer. This means that in the future we may see electrical assets last longer, which benefits our ratepayers.

The Canadian Solar Industries Association (CanSIA) is a national trade association that represents the solar energy industry throughout Canada. The Game Changer Awards recognize the excellence of the many individuals and organizations that have helped the solar energy industry mature by pursuing the path that will lead us to an even brighter future.
