Georgia Public Service Commission Presents Award for Innovation to Windstream Communications

February 9, 2015

Today (2/4), Public Service Commissioner Tim Echols joined with executives from Eco-Cool to present Windstream Communications Georgia with a Green Initiative Award. The award recognizes Windstream for making significant energy efficiency gains and reducing their overall usage by installing Eco-Cool refrigerant catalyst in their heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems.  The chemical has a "Lipitor" effect in a heat pump or similar system.

Chan Dent, a manager with Windstream Communications Georgia, said, "We installed two Eco-Cool units at two of our locations and reduced our energy costs by 28 per cent." Windstream Communications Georgia is a leading provider of advanced network communications and offers broadband, phone and digital TV services primarily to consumers in rural areas.

"This award is for Windstream taking the initiative to reduce their energy consumption by 28 percent," said Jill Stuckey, Chief Relationship officer for Eco-Cool. Eco-Cool Enterprises, based in Plains, Georgia, promotes the use of efficiency in air conditioning and DX systems by improving lubrication, heat transfer and oil fouling with the refrigerant loop, resulting in lower evaporation temperatures, reduced compressor operation, extended unit life and overall energy savings.

"I'm anxious for Georgia families and businesses to save as much money as possible on energy, said Commissioner Tim Echols. "This simple product has a quick pay back and has virtually no disruption in a business place or family.
