NOVA SCOTIA POWER
NSP conducts investigation into collapse of wind turbine in Grand Etang

January 13, 2017

Nova Scotia Power is investigating the collapse earlier today (1/4) of a wind turbine it owns and operates in Grand Etang, Inverness County.

No one was on site at the time of the collapse and no one was injured. The safety of the public and of our employees is our top priority as we conduct a detailed investigation.

Constructed in 2002, Grand Etang was one of the first wind installations in Nova Scotia, with a single 660 kilowatt Vestas turbine. That particular make of turbine is not used at any other site in the province, either by Nova Scotia Power or independent wind producers.
