Santee Cooper Announces Four New EVolve Grant Recipients

The EVolve Grant Program allows eligible Santee Cooper commercial customers to apply for up to $25,000 of grant funding for electric vehicle projects. Customers can apply for a grant in the categories of make-ready research, education and outreach, electric vehicle charging infrastructure and electric fleet conversion. An independent, competitive scoring process led by a third party helps Santee Cooper choose the top projects to receive funding. 

"We are already seeing the infrastructure for electric vehicles expand across the Grand Strand because of our EVolve Grant recipients," said Andy Altman, Senior Manager of Conservation and Energy Efficiency. "The success of this program demonstrates the need to better accommodate our growing number of EV drivers." 

Here's how the recipients will use their grant money: 

• Town of Atlantic Beach - purchase and install two DC fast EV chargers. 
• Brogdon Electric - purchase and install an EV charger. 
• Coastal Carolina Association of Realtors - purchase and install an EV charger. 
• Shoreham Towers II HOA - purchase and install two EV chargers. 

"The Atlantic Beach community is pleased to be the recipient of the Santee Cooper EVolve Grant," said Mayor Jake Evans. "The establishment of an electric vehicle charging station in our town will be an economic benefit and a boost for our town. We are excited to be a part of this environmentally friendly cutting-edge initiative in partnership with Santee Cooper." 

Recipients must complete their projects within 12 months. The second 2023 grant cycle is underway with a deadline of Sept. 8. Customers can find more information on the program and apply for a grant at www.santeecooper.com/evolvegrant.
