Resolute today (2/10) announced the achievement of a key milestone in the process of evaluating the commercial feasibility of its first Wave2OTM system deployment in Cape Verde. Wave resource assessment work being undertaken by one of Resolute's Cape Verde project partners, iXBLUE, involves the deployment of two acoustic doppler current profilers (ADCPs) over a full-year period to capture potential seasonal variabilities in the wave resource. The two ADCPs have been on station for the first three-month measurement period and have been successfully retrieved and captured data has been successfully downloaded. Preliminary analysis indicates that, during the measurement period, sufficient wave energy is present to support Resolute's plan to deploy a 500 m3/day Wave2OTM system followed by an expansion of its modular wave-powered desalination technology to 4,000 m3/day of production. The ADCPs have been cleaned, checked and re-deployed for the next measurement period.
