On March 26, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) signed a grant agreement with the Government of the Republic of Cuba in Havana to provide grant aid of up to 2.392 billion yen for the Project for the Improvement of Power Supply in the Isle of Youth.
Under the project, equipment for electrical system stabilization will be introduced on the Isle of Youth, which is the biggest remote island in Cuba, to ensure a stable supply of renewable energy on the island. It is hoped that the project will promote the use of renewable energy in Cuba.
