MARINE RENEWABLES CANADA
Marine Renewables Canada to showcase Canadian offshore wind strengths and capabilities during trade mission to United States

May 21, 2024

Next week (April 25), Canadian representatives of the growing marine renewable energy industry will showcase capabilities to an international audience in Louisiana. Marine Renewables Canada, with support from the Government of Canada, is leading a trade mission of 25 companies to the International Partnering Forum (IPF 2024) hosted by the Oceantic Network.

The United States (US) is a growing market for offshore wind, with a goal of 30 GW by 2030, and 53 GW already in the pipeline. Achieving this level of built capacity will require a skilled and experienced supply chain to deliver on industry goals. With close proximity to the US and numerous suppliers with offshore experience, Marine Renewables Canada has provided support to its members looking to enter into the US market for the past eight years.

"Canadian businesses have strong capabilities in marine renewable energy, as well as other offshore sectors such as oil and gas that can directly support offshore wind developments," said Amanda White, Operations Director at Marine Renewables Canada. "With Canada now working to grow its offshore wind market, IPF is also an important opportunity for us to gather information on best practices, lessons learned, and grow relationships that will help Canada accelerate development of its future offshore wind sector."

IPF is well regarded as the premiere offshore wind energy conference in North America, connecting global leaders and businesses in the supply chain, and delivering timely and relevant updates on the industry, from technology and policy, to safety and siting. The event typically attracts 4000+ attendees from over 15 countries and features over 400 exhibitors. Through participation in conference sessions, a booth at the exhibition, and side business and networking events, the mission will serve to showcase Canada's capabilities, help participating organizations develop new business leads, and provide intelligence and information about the growing offshore wind market.

The following businesses and organizations are participating in the mission to the US:
