Wales Takes Centre Stage: A New Era for Welsh Industry

September 8, 2025

Wales has long been home to a rich industrial heritage but today, it's the future that's making headlines. With world-class manufacturing, growing investment in green energy, and a thriving digital economy, Welsh industry is evolving fast and now, it's about to get the international stage it deserves.

In 2026, the Manufacturing & Supply Chain (MSC) Conference & Exhibition will arrive in Wales for the first time. The new Welsh edition joins the respected MSC portfolio of events held across Dublin, Belfast, Limerick, and Glasgow, bringing a powerful platform to one of the UK's most industrious nations.

This event will give Wales the opportunity to present a united front to demonstrate the scale, skill, and ambition of its manufacturers, innovators, and industrial leaders. From aerospace and medical tech to renewable energy and fintech, the sectors shaping the nation's future will be on full display.

"Wales has always punched above its weight in advanced manufacturing and innovation," says Mike Gillard of Industry Wales. "Now we have the opportunity to showcase that strength directly to global decision makers, and position Wales as a world-class partner for sustainable industry, collaboration, and growth."

Key players in the region already include Airbus in Broughton, Sony in Bridgend, and Thales, with expanding clusters in medical devices, precision engineering, and cybersecurity. Meanwhile, Renishaw chose Miskin South Wales for their second facility, they now have 1,000,000 sq ft of manufacturing space at Miskin. Wales's net-zero strategy is also pushing boundaries in wind, hydro, and tidal energy, driving rapid growth in renewables and sustainable engineering.

The MSC Wales event will act as both showcase and catalyst attracting overseas business, creating new partnerships, and offering a space for engineers, entrepreneurs, and industry leaders to connect. It's also a platform for Wales to be heard: to articulate its needs, its innovations, and its ambitions to the broader UK and European supply chain ecosystem.

Held under the banner of business community building, MSC Wales will bring together thousands of professionals across sectors, C-suite leaders, policy makers, buyers, researchers, and manufacturing experts, for a packed programme of exhibitions, keynote talks, and live networking.

It's a timely moment of recognition. With economic and environmental pressures demanding new models of resilience and cooperation, Wales is ready to lead with both tradition and innovation.

Marine Energy at MSC

Marine energy will also take a prominent place within MSC Wales. With innovative tidal stream, wave, and offshore wind projects already underway, Wales is uniquely positioned to demonstrate its role in driving the UK's transition to net zero. The event will provide a platform for these projects and companies to connect with global partners, share expertise, and accelerate commercial deployment.

As a supporting association of MSC Wales, Marine Energy Wales will be showcasing our work at the exhibition and contributing to the programme of talks.
