Incentives Still Available for the Lower Income Solar Energy Program

September 7, 2018

Incentives are available through the Lower Income Solar Energy Program (LISEP) for businesses that serve lower-income individuals or offer lower-income housing to help them offset the cost of installing private solar systems.

LISEP is a joint effort of NV Energy and the Nevada Governor's Office of Energy (GOE) that offers incentives for solar photovoltaic (PV) systems to business and housing customers that serve lower-income populations. Originally created in 2013 as a pilot program through Assembly Bill 428, LISEP was made permanent with Senate Bill 145 in 2017.

As of July 1, 2018, NV Energy has contributed more than $8.3 million in incentives to support this program. Recipients in northern Nevada include Alpine Haven, the Salvation Army, Bristlecone Family Resources and Ridge House.
