UTILITIES KINGSTON
Utilities Kingston introduces its Climate Action Leadership Plan

October 16, 2025

Utilities Kingston has announced the launch of its Climate Action Leadership Plan (CALP), a bold and practical strategy for enhancing sustainability, reducing operational emissions, and strengthening infrastructure resilience across Kingston.

As the local multi-utility provider, Utilities Kingston manages the essential systems that power homes, deliver clean water, and provide services the community relies on daily. This unique position allows the organization to take real and meaningful leadership on climate action.

"Our CALP sets a clear path forward, focusing on reducing emissions, helping our customers conserve energy and water, exploring new services like electric vehicle charging and heat pump programs, and investing in climate-resilient infrastructure. We are committed to turning this plan into meaningful progress for our community." said David Fell, President and CEO of Utilities Kingston.

Much of this work is already underway, from infrastructure upgrades that enhance system reliability to practical programs that help residents use resources more efficiently. The Climate Action Leadership Plan also aligns closely with the City of Kingston's Climate Leadership Plan and its target to achieve carbon neutrality by 2040.

Utilities Kingston emphasizes that climate progress is a shared responsibility. By working together with residents, businesses, and community partners, the organization aims to inspire action and deliver solutions that benefit both the environment and the community.
